A German Numisbrief (numismatic cover) titled “Granma — Ein Schiff, das Geschichte machte” (“The ship that made history”), issued for the 30th anniversary of the Granma landing.
Inside is Cuba's commemorative 1 Peso 1986 in copper-nickel: the yacht Granma at sea, inscribed XXX Aniversario 1956–1986 · Desembarco del Granma; the reverse carries the Cuban coat of arms. The matching Cuban 5 centavos stamp shows the Granma and the revolutionaries, cancelled with a first-day Havana postmark, 2 December 1986.
The cover artwork maps the voyage: Fidel Castro and his men sailed from Tuxpan, Mexico, on 25 November 1956 aboard the small motor yacht and landed at Los Cayuelos, Cuba, on 2 December 1956 — the landing that began the Cuban Revolution. The German text on the back tells the story in full.
Numbered limited edition of 2,000 — this is No. 0280. You will receive the exact cover shown in the photos. Only one available.
